Founder’s Day, the annual event celebrating the Disciples’ founding of Chapman University, will be a special TWO-DAY event, March 9-20, 2010.
Friday, March 19th, there will be four lectures by one of the leading biblical scholars of the Progressive Christian Movement, Dr. Marcus Borg. Author of numerous best-selling books, including Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time and The Heart of Christianity, Borg’s first three lectures will be addressing the topic of “Jesus: Then and Now.” In the evening, his topic will be “Speaking Christian: Redeeming Christian Language.” The day will include lunch and a reception for Chapman alumni.
Saturday, March 20th, there will be an extended Speaker’s Forum with Borg, workshops for prospective students and their parents, an alumni gathering of the Disciples on Campus members, lunch, a concert by the Chapman Concert Choir and a worship service with Borg preaching.
You can register for the entire event, including the two meals, for just $100. You can also choose to register for individual parts of the event.
Online registration is now open! You can also call Chapman and ask for Nancy Brink if you have any questions or concerns.
