The Caller is going green! In an effort to produce less waste and save money on paper and postage, The Christian Caller Newsletter is officially transitioning to an email newsletter! Fret not those of you without email, you will still be able to get this new letter-formated newsletter via first class printed mail. It will, however, have a new look and cost us less in time and production to deliver to you.
Your help is needed for the transition to be as smooth as possible. Please follow these simple directions to make sure you continue to receive The Caller in your preferred format:
For People With Email
You can either sign up on the church website with the form on the left hand side of the home page, or you can email your address that you want to get the newsletter at to the church office: fcc@fccpomona.org. After you submit your email (either way) it will be added to our official list and you will receive instructions with directions to add our email address to your safe list and confirm your subscription. If you have any problems, contact one of the staff members in the church office. Also, indicate if you want to receive updates about events and prayer concerns as they happen in addition to the bi-weekly newsletter.
For People Without Email
Call or write the church office and indicate your preference of receiving the newsletter via regular postal mail. We are unable to provide frequent updates via postal mail.
If we don’t hear from you, you will probably be dropped from the list
so make sure you contact us either way!
We all hope this transition will be smooth. If, however, you have any difficulties with receiving the church newsletter in either format, call the church office and we’ll set it right as soon as possible. There will not be any future mailings of The Caller in the classic square flier format.

We now have a recycling bin at the church! Place your recycling materials in our new bin in the church parking lot. We also have blue containers located throughout the church that are intended for RECYCLING ONLY. Please make sure that all recyclables are thoroughly cleaned of ANY organic (food) materials before putting them into the recycling bin. Even the smallest amount of organic material can ruin an entire batch of recycling and cause it to have to be dumped into a landfill. Acceptable materials are:
- Aerosol cans (must be completely empty)
- Aluminum cans (please do not crush)
- Brochures
- Corrugated Cardboard
- Cardboard (soda/beverage carrier board)
- Cereal Boxes (remove wax paper lining)
- Computer Paper
- Coupons
- Glass bottles, jars
- Glass cosmetic bottles
- Junk mail
- Laundry Detergent bottles
- Ledger Pads of paper
- Magazines
- Metal coat hangers
- Paper
- Paper tubes (from paper towels or toilet paper)

Help First Christian Church Go Green!
Great job. I didn’t realize you had this site. The Presbyterian Church is having budget problems as are many other churches. Both the Chino Rotary Club, the Big Bear Rotary Club as well as Kaiser Hospital have used the e-mail news letter for several years. I like it and the cost savings are great. Up to date information can be sent to members to put an their calendars and then reminders just before and event.
Don
Thanks Don. We’re excited about the possibilities. Sorry to hear the Pres. Church is struggling. We are so very fortunate at FCC Pomona. You’ll be glad to know that the CDC made money last month and enrollment is creeping up ever so slowly. Chris Abbott has joined the CDC Board and is helping open doors to reconnect with the hospital. We hope this will bear additional fruit.
Peace, Julie
