Book Discussion: You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories About Racism

2021-08-10 19:00 2021-08-10 20:00 America/Los_Angeles Book Discussion: You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories About Racism

You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories About Racism (Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar) Amber is a comedy writer. Lacey is her sister. They wrote this book together about all the crazy things that happened long ago and very recently to Lacey, on account of being a black woman in the US of A, specifically, Omaha, Nebraska, where the sisters grew up and where Lacey still lives and works. If you want to laugh and learn about the lived reality of Black people (and most everyone who isn’t White) in America in our present time, if you want to laugh and commiserate with Lacey’s stories because they are also your stories, then read the book and join the conversation on August 10th at 7 pm. The event may be hybrid (virtual and in person);  there will definitely be a Zoom option so more people can participate. Pick up the book at your local bookstore, Amazon, or on your e-reader of choice! Contact the Church Office (909-622-1144) to RSVP!
