Christ of the Celts Class

2020-06-24 19:00 2020-06-24 20:00 America/Los_Angeles Christ of the Celts Class

What if Christianity taught that we are born blessed? What if Christianity included women throughout its history in leadership? What if Christianity taught that matter matters, that creation isn’t something to escape but a gift to be cherished and honored? Guess what: These are Christian notions through the lens of Celtic spirituality, still considered by some to be heretical. Well, we don’t think they are heretical. Over the next 8 weeks, we are exploring Christ as understood through the lens of Celtic spirituality through livestream worship and in small Zoom group meetings for conversation, discovery and prayer. You don’t even need a computer! Zoom meetings can be joined on your phone. If you are interested in participating, contact the Church Office (fcc@fccpomona.org) for the Zoom link.  Additionally, this study will be taking inspiration from Christ of the Celts: The Healing of Creation, by John Philip Newell. If you’d like to read the book to enrich your quarantine, it can be ordered here. If you are unable to order online but would still like to read the book, contact the Church Office and we will arrange to have it delivered to you! Want more? Want to bypass having to order the book online and listen to the audio version? Check out the, “Exploring Celtic Christian Spirituality” page under our Grow tab!
