Thursdays: March 20, 27 and April 3 at 7 pm. This book is what happens when a person named Dr. Emily Smith looks at the world through the lens of her vocation as global epidemiologist and her vocation as a Christian. Combining her expertise as a scientist with her deep Christian faith while drawing from her journey from small town Texas to a prestigious university, The Science of the Good Samaritan shares fascinating stories from her own life and the lives of other inspiring people around the world to show us how to:   Find shared values with people from different backgrounds, faiths, and cultures than our own Reach outside our immediate circles to bring in those on the margins Redefine our concept of “neighbor” and love our neighbors in more practical and global ways Bridge the gaps of society’s disparities and inequities. Each of the three sections of the book (Centering, Cost and Courage) will be discussed over the three weeks. You can pick up the book at your local book store or other online retailer. Simply type the title into the search engine. Dr. Julie Roberts-Fronk will be leading the three sessions.
