“What Exactly is the Bible?” Class

2021-08-04 19:00 2021-08-04 20:00 America/Los_Angeles “What Exactly is the Bible?” Class

Tim Reed will be teaching a 4-week Zoom overview of the Bible, beginning Wednesday, August 4 at 7p! This class will be a kind of “Bible for Dummies” introduction to the Bible; if you find the Bible confusing or overwhelming, this the class for you! Even Bible veterans will find something new in this concise clear presentation of the Bible in its historical context. Week 1: So Many Books: What are different parts of the Bible? Where did it come from? What does it mean to say the Bible is inspired by God? Week 2: The Original Bible: What is the Old Testament? Week 3: There’s a Hole in Your Bible: What is the Apocrypha? What happened between the Testaments? Week 4: The Christian Sequel: What is the New Testament? And how did Jews and Christians decide which writings should be considered Scripture and what books belong in the Bible? Each class is independent, so it is not necessary to commit to the entire series. To attend any or all of the webinars, email the Church Office for the Zoom link.
