Compassion Practice Course Retreat

2019-09-28 09:30 2019-09-28 15:00 America/Los_Angeles Compassion Practice Course Retreat

How do we strengthen our hearts for the work of being the compassion of Christ in the world? The Compassion Practice is one way to increase our capacity for self-compassion and compassion for other people. This way of radical compassion is the way of Jesus. The curriculum is from Center for Engaged Compassion in Claremont, CA. The book Compassion Practice: The Way of Jesus by Frank Rogers, is an additional resource participants may want to get. Julie Roberts-Fronk, a certified facilitator for the Compassion Practice will lead this course in the Fall. Six of the twelve practices will be covered in the Fall segment of the course. It will be launched with a mini-retreat on Saturday Sept. 28, 9:30 am to 3 pm. The second half of the course will be taught over a period of three weeks: Tuesdays, Oct 1, 8, and 15 7-8:15 pm. Because of the nature of this course, plan to attend all sessions. Donation of $30 per person is requested to cover costs of food and materials. Scholarships are available; please see Julie.
